Hermes II - Coastal history since 1917 (ENGLISH)
På lager: 100
The text describes Hermes II as more than just a beautifully rare boat; it's also a tangible historical document. In the over hundred years since its launch in 1917, the Skandfer cutter has sailed countless nautical miles, supported numerous families in northern Norway, brought ashore millions of tons of fish and transported animal feed, fish, coal, and prefabricated houses across the country. It has also been involved in evacuations and the rebuilding of Finnmark, experienced fires, groundings, renovations, and, not least, participated in a fair share of antics and merriment.
In this book, you get to go all the way back to the beginning, to Nils Skandfer's boatyard in Kulstadsjøen. From there, you follow Hermes II through both good and bad times. You meet the boat's past and present owners and get to know some of the places and people that have had a particularly significant impact on this over a hundred-year-old lady. She's now in the best shape of her life and eager to share her many experiences and adventures with you.
Welcome aboard!
